I have many lovely memories of Sr. Florence Edward from my time at the Hill and living in Fournier. My favorite: planting roses with her outside of the cafeteria. The roses -- which are still there -- are a wonderful rememberance of her. I offer my prayers for the soul of Sr. Florence and for the consolation of her family.

My sisters and I were blessed to have Sister Florence Edward as our teacher at Mount Saint Joseph Academy, and I was fortunate enough to experience her greatness of soul again as a colleague at Chestnut Hill College. Text messages received from my sisters: She was my favorite teacher. ~ Her words of wisdom were my salvation! ~ Rest in peace, Sister Florence.

Sister Florence Edward was one of the most remarkable teachers during my four years at Chestnut Hill. She brought biology to life with her gifts as a teacher and her human touch. I went from not identifying as a scientist in any way to actually considering a course of study leading to medical school. Though I didn't opt for that path, her legacy - her love of science and its ultimate mystery - has stayed with me all these years. She made a difference in so many lives.
