Susan K. Hart

Philadelphia, PA - Susan K. Hart, 83, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family May 3, 2025. She was born February 12, 1942, in West Reading, PA, the daughter of the late Leona C. (Barkalow) and Sidney D. Kline.

Sue was a graduate of the 1959 class of Wyomissing Area High School; and a 1963 graduate of Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. She also earned a French degree from McGill University in Montreal. She was Phi Beta Kappa and a member of Phi Mu Sorority.

She was an active member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church in Philadelphia PA. She was a volunteer, civic leader, animal lover, church leader, community advocate, beloved mother and grandmother. She greatly enjoyed traveling with her sister, dancing, singing, and spending time with family.

Sue is survived by her two sons: Corey B. Hart, husband of Donna Bassler-Hart, Christopher B. Hart, husband of Ellen Casey Hart, and her four cherished grandchildren: Charles S. Hart, Saville M. Hart, Nathaniel C. Hart, and Emersyn O. Hart. Other survivors include sister, Joan C. (Kline) Gingrich of Williamsport, PA and a brother Robert C. Kline, husband of Ann (Hooff) Kline, of Phoenixville, PA.

She was predeceased by her husband Charles R. Hart and her brother Sidney D. Kline Jr, husband of Barbara (James) Kline.

A celebration of life will be held at St. Alban's Episcopal Church, 500 Fairthorne Ave, Philadelphia PA 19128 on 5/30/2025 at 1:00 pm.

Interment will occur on 5/31/25 at 10:30am at Charles Evans Cemetery 1119 CentrAvenueReading, Pennsylvania 19601.
