Sue Lynam Obituary

Sue Lynam passed away on Monday, September 27, 2021 at the age of 79, surrounded by family and friends. She was born in Philadelphia, PA to Joseph and Thelma Slawek. Sue was raised in Manayunk with her parents and three brothers: Joe, Mike, and Pete. She graduated from John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls' High School in 1960. She married her childhood sweetheart, the late Jim Lynam Jr. and together they shared 50 years of marriage. A devoted wife and loving mother of Michele Lynam, Kelly Press (Tom), Jim Lynam, and the late Nicole Lynam. Beloved grandmother of Julia, Emma, Olivia, James, Ella Rogers and Grace and Madison Press. Proud Great Grandmother of Naveyah Tryon. 

After raising her children, Sue worked for the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania until retiring in 2008.  Retirement did not slow her down. She filled her leisure time with a variety of activities; shopping, attending grandchildren's sports, and traveling.  Whether it was cooking, crafting, designing, or painting, channelling her artistic side had always been one of her hidden talents.  She was an avid reader, loved the beach, and trips to the casino to play the slot machines. Sue was a strong woman who lived life with passion and the joy of making others happy, Her greatest treasures in life were family and friends.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Viewing on Wednesday 9:30 AM followed by Funeral Mass 10:30 AM at St. John the Baptist Church, 146 Rector Street, Manayunk. Interment at Calvary Cemetery.
