Stanley Ratay Obituary

Stanley “Tom" Ratay, age 69, died Sept. 29, 2020. Originally from Overbrook Park he resided in Roxborough for the past 23 years. Beloved husband of 46 years to Diane (nee Schama), devoted father to T.J. Ratay (Ashley) and proud grandfather to Em and Andi Ratay. Brother of Kevin Ratay and the late Cathy Ratay. Step-son of Caroline Ratay, Brother-in law to Chet Gulczynski (Caroline), Nancy Duprey (Edd), Michele Wolicki (Tom) and Michael Schama. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Tom was a Philadelphia Firefighter from 1977-2013, retiring as Lieutenant of Ladder 30, but spent the majority of his career in West Philadelphia. He served as Military Police in the US Army during the Vietnam War.

Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Sunday, November 1 via Zoom Link https://jworg.zoom.us/j/85610154693 (Meeting ID: 856 1015 4693 / Passcode: 336288). A Slideshow will begin at 3:30 p.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 4 p.m.
