Samuel J. LePera

Samuel J. LePera, 103 years old, of Manayunk and Roxborough, died July 15, 2021. Sam is predeceased by his wife of 70 years, Valerie (Pat) (nee Babiarz). He is survived by his five children, Patricia LePera, James (Janet) LePera, Samuel (Barbara) LePera Jr., Nancy (Ken) Story, and Mark LePera, 9 grandchildren Michael Rocks, Lisa Brunson, Patricia Haney, Christine Bonde, Lauren LePera, Andrew Rocks, Matthew LePera, Daniel LePera, Samantha LePera and 15 great- grandchildren. He is also survived by four sisters, Dolores Hyland, Theresa Stoberl, Lucy Waldenberger, and Agnes Brill. Sam and his wife Pat shared their time between Philadelphia and Saint Petersburg, Florida.

Sam was an Officer in the National Association of Left Handed Golfers and was a scratch player. He played his favorite pastime almost every day and was President of Bala Golf Club in Philadelphia from 1986 to 1998. A veteran of World War II, Sam served as a Staff Sergeant in the U. S. Amy Air Corps from 1942 to 1945.

Friends are invited to call Monday at St. Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill Pa beginning at 9:30 AM. Funeral Mass will follow at 11 AM. Interment is Private.
