Ruth Ann Hogan Abruzzo, 86, of Roxborough, passed away on February 5th, 2026. Originally from the Fairmount section of Philadelphia, Ruth Ann was the youngest daughter of the late Florence Gibson & Thomas Joseph Hogan. Ruth Ann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She enjoyed 45 years of blissful marriage to her husband, Salvatore "Boz" Abruzzo, who now surely greets her in heaven.
Ruth Ann was an incredibly hard worker, a trusted neighbor, and an avid gardener. In her younger years, she was a steadfast volunteer at St. Nicholas Ukrainian Catholic School in Fairmount, and a long time member of St. Francis Xavier Parish. In her later years, she loved to watch birds from her front porch and was a loving dog-mom to her best friend, Beau.
Ruth Ann was preceded in death by her brother Thomas Hogan, her sisters Dolly Donahue & Betty Emerick, and her beloved nieces Susan Donahue, Kathy Donahue and Patsy Hogan. Additionally, she is preceded by her nephew Timothy Donahue and her son-in-law Joseph F. Claffy. She leaves behind her daughter and caretaker, Patricia Abruzzo Claffy, and her son, Joseph M. Abruzzo and his wife, Karen.
More than most, Ruth Ann treasured her seven grandchildren who were her life's true light: Marshall (Anthony), Alexander, Eliza, Andrew, Mia, Tori & Gabi. She recently had become a great-grandmother to Grace Josephine & Anthony Salvatore Marano. Ruth Ann found true joy in her new title as "Gigi."

n celebration of Ruth Ann's life, there will be a 9:30-11AM visitation, followed by Mass, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel on Wednesday, February 11th. Internment at George Washington Memorial Park in Plymouth Meeting will follow.
Please note the Viewing and Mass have been moved to the Chapel. The Chapel entrance is between Father Sullivan Hall and the Rectory.
