Roland W. Harmon, 89, passed away on December 11, 2020, in Norristown, PA formerly Roxborough, PA surrounded by his family.
Roland was born on August 23, 1931 in Westbrook, ME, to William Harmon and Albina Harmon who precede him in death.
Roland graduated from Cheverus High School in 1951 and enlisted in the U.S. Army where he served as a corporal from 1952 – 1954 in the 101st Airborne Division during the Korean War. He started his career as an Insurance Salesman for Prudential and went on to work for 30 years becoming a million dollar producer for the company.
Roland married the love of his life Dolores Harmon (née Engle) on September 10, 1955 in Philadelphia. The couple had 1 child, Roland Richard Harmon.
Roland was best known for adoring his family and friends, his good-hearted nature, and being active in the Philadelphia political community.
Roland is survived by his spouse, Dolores Harmon, of Roxborough, PA. Son, Roland Harmon (Jeanne Ketcham) of East Norriton, PA. Sister, Carol Carll (Van Carll) of Gorham, ME. Grandchildren, Ashley LaPera (Brian LaPera), Andrew Harmon (Evan Garbayo), and Alexandra Harmon. Great grandchildren, Rayna LaPera, Scarlett LaPera, and Savannah LaPera. Also many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, and grandnephews. He is preceded in death by this brother, Richard Harmon, and sister, Joan Carr.
Relatives and friends are invited to Call on Saturday, April 24 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Philip Neri Church, 437 Ridge Pike, Lafayette Hill. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 a.m. Interment in. Calvary Cemetery
