Robert J. Brecht

Robert J. Brecht Jr. was born on October 14,1954 in Manayunk. He passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on July 9, 2020 at the age of 65.  Bob is the beloved husband of Robin Brecht (nee. Slywar) for 43 years and a devoted father to Christina Evangelidis (Pete), Kathleen, and Mary Ellen. Cherished grandfather of Kevin and Ryan.
He is the son of Mary Ellen Brecht and the late Robert J. Brecht Sr. Brother of Loretta A. Walker (Albert), Teresa E. Spinks (John), and the late Lawrence C. Brecht Sr., (Sue).

Bob is loved by his many nieces and nephews. Bob also leaves behind many Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends. Bob was Graduate of Roman High School class of 1972.  After high school Bob served in the United States Army from 1973-1976.  He then worked for the city of Philadelphia fleet management for over 30 years.  He retired early from the city of Philadelphia and then worked part time at St. Josephs Villa. Bob was a man of many trades. There wasn’t anything he couldn’t do. He enjoyed working hard, teaching his girls and grandsons his many skills, spending time with his family, sharing stories of his life and creating memories. We will forever cherish our memories together, he will be missed more than words can ever explain.

Relatives and friends are invited to Viewing Wednesday 7PM-9PM and Thursday 8:30 AM at Koller Funeral Home, 6835 Ridge Ave. Funeral Mass on Thursday at 10 AM at Holy Family Church in Manayunk. Interment Westminster Cemetery.
