Rita Koller Obituary

Rita B. Koller (nee Bramlage) of Philadelphia, 93, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on July 24, 2025. True to form, she was her quick-witted self right up until the very end.

While raising 8 children, Rita volunteered at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic School in Manayunk before accepting a position at Four Seasons Day Care in Roxborough. She went on to ultimately retire from Germantown Savings Bank upon its closure in 1994. She spent the rest of her life devoted to her family - helping to babysit numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren and hosting holidays.

As the cornerstone of a large family, Rita is survived by her children James (late Linda) Koller, Patricia (Frank) Barboni, Debbie (Mark) Buschmann, Donna (Tim) Quigley, Dolores (John) Kingston, Bernadette Koller, and Rita (Neil) Stevens, 13 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, her brother Sonny (late Maryann) Bramlage, and countless nieces, nephews, and extended family. She is preceded in death by her husband, George, daughter Karen (Chuck) Kempf, granddaughter, Alicia Hendricks, and sisters Marie Collard and Doris Vetter.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Jackie Wawrzynek, lifelong friend and caregiver, for all of her support, especially in these last few months.

The family will receive visitors at St. John the Baptist Church in Manayunk from 9:30am-10:30am on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, followed by a Mass at 10:30am.
Rita's wish was for this to be a celebration of her life. She requested that all attendees wear bright colors to the service in her honor.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude's or Shriner's Hospital in her name.

The Memorial Service will be livestreamed. Please use this link.
