Nicholas Pomilio Obituary

On December 4, 2024 we lost Nicholas "Nick" Pomilio at the age of 79. Well liked, funny, and a great storyteller, known as "Nick Pom" or "Nick Diamond" to his friends. He was a lover of movies, sports, and music (classical and jazz). A trumpet player in high school, Nick served in the 1st US Army 50th Army Band at Fort Monroe, Virginia where he played countless renditions of "Taps" for fallen American soldiers. He received a National Defense Service Medal for having served during the Viet Nam war. For over 30 years he worked for the U.S Postal Service as a letter carrier where he was called "the great one" by his fellow mailmen. In retirement he became a member of the Fungi trumpet club. Nick also worked for multiple boxing promotions doing everything from driving, to site coordination, to glove and corner work.
He was born on November 27, 1945 to the late Lucretia and Silvio Pomilio. He is survived by his son Zachary, former wife Gemma, sister Patricia Emmel, nephews Christian (Cindy) Emmel and Patrick (Kelly) Emmel, three great nieces and a great nephew. He will be missed by everyone.
Services will be announced at a later date.
