Michael A. Mara

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael A. Mara, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, who left us on October 26, 2025, at the age of 67. Michael was the devoted husband of Nancy (nee Menardi), together for an incredible 51 years, spending the last 43 of those years as a married couple. Their beautiful love story began way back at Michael's senior prom, where a spark ignited that would last a lifetime. Together, they raised a wonderful family, which includes their loving daughter, Jennine Mara (Heather), as well as their son, Michael W. Mara, and their daughter, Colleen Howard (Jonathan). Michael was proud to be Pop-Pop to his cherished grandchildren, Gabby, Riley, Augie, and Sully, who brought him endless joy and laughter. Michael was especially looking forward to meeting his fifth grandchild due in February. He is also survived by his beloved siblings: Debbie, Dennis (Donna), Mary (Paul), Donna (Karl), Paul, and Robert (Lisa). Michael was surrounded by a large extended family filled with many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents, Michael and Mary Mara.

Michael's passion for life was infectious. He was a dedicated mechanical engineer in the energy sector, yet his greatest achievements were always found at home and in the company of loved ones. Family meant everything to him, and he was never happier than when he was surrounded by his best buddies, his grandchildren, sharing stories or cheering on his favorite teams, the Phillies and Eagles.

An avid star-gazer, Michael found peace and wonder in the night sky, always seeking to understand the universe just a bit better. He had a way of making every day an adventure, blending curiosity with kindness, and laughter with love.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet Michael's family on Monday, November 3rd at Koller Funeral Home, 6835 Ridge Ave, Philadelphia beginning at 6 PM. At 8 PM, words of remembrance will be shared allowing all who knew him to come together and honor the wonderful man he was.

Michael's family is planning a future celebration of life with details to be announced at a later date.

As we gather to remember Michael, let us share stories that reflect his warm spirit and celebrate the little moments that made him extraordinary. He will forever live in our hearts, teaching us the value of love, family, and looking up at the stars. You will be missed, Michael, but never forgotten.
