Mari Doran Obituary

Mari (Mary) Doran of Philadelphia Pennsylvania, passed away Tuesday, August 5, 2025 at her home after the reoccurrence of her cancer. Mari was born in Avoca, Pennsylvania to the late Frank and Mary Claire (nee Meehan) Doran. Mari was devoted to her friends and family. She was the loving wife of Charles P. Brown for 29 years. Mari is survived by her brothers, James Doran (Becky) and William Doran. She was a dear Aunt to Jeff, Chelsea, and Quinn. She was step-mother to Oliver (Taryn) and Grandmother to Charlie and Bo.

Mari graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Marywood College. She received her Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from George Washington University. Mari worked most of her career in Adult Speech-Language-Swallowing Therapy. She worked at Moss Rehabilitation and later as the head of the Speech-Language department at Magee Rehabilitation for many years. She retired as the Speech Pathology manager from the Thomas Jefferson University Hospital. She was among the best in her field. Mari was loved by patients, their families, and her colleagues.

Mari's husband describes her as "Summa Cum Laude in Life and in Love". She had a beautiful sense of adventure, was an accomplished skier and swimmer, loved travel, art, and music. Mari was kind to all, an extraordinary listener, and loved by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Mari was a treasure with a heart of gold.
