Margaret Fullerton Obituary


On May 21st Peggy Fullerton passed from this world. Peggy was predeceased by her parents Madge and Lawrence Fullerton, her loving sister Carol Fullerton, and brother in law Alfred Sahms. She is survived by her loving siblings Nancy Sahms, Lawerence Fullerton (Pamela). In addition she is survived by nieces Diane Sahms, Betty Basiura, Eleanor Hummel, Patrice Volensky, Courtney Fullerton and close friend Cindy Nield, Ms. Fullerton is also survived by her loving pets Precious and Millie, eight great nieces and nephews and five great great nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Roxborough High School class of '65 Ms. Fullerton graduated from Jefferson University with her LPN. Ms. Fullerton worked for many years at the Fairmount Farms, then Northwest Human Services from where she retired in 2012. Ms. Fullerton was a high school athlete in softball, field hockey and basketball. Following graduation she played softball for the Parks and Recreation Fast Pitch League and for many years was an umpire for Parks and Recreation, and the Philadelphia School District. Ms. Fullerton enjoyed traveling with Cindy Nield and traveled to the lower 48 states, Hawaii and Canada. She was a season ticket holder at the Academy of Music as well as a regular at The Walnut Street Theatre and Miriam Theatre. Ms. Fullerton enjoyed summer evenings sitting with her sisters on the porch on Ripka Street listening to the Phillies.

Graveside services will be held at Philadelphia Memorial Park in Frazer, Pennsylvania on Friday, May 28 at 11 a.m. Ms. Fullerton requested donations to Montgomery County SPCA in lieu of flowers.
