Linton Turner Christman, known as "Butch" passed away at home at the age of 83 after a lengthy illness with his wife of 62 years, Ann Elizabeth Christman, affectionately known as "Betsy" at his side. Her care, companionship, and devotion were constant throughout their life together.

Born and raised in the Wissahickon and Manayunk sections of Philadelphia, Butch embodied the pride, resilience, and spirit of his hometown throughout his life. A gifted athlete, he graduated from Roxborough High School in 1961, where he distinguished himself in both football and track. His athletic accomplishments and contributions to the school community earned him induction into the Roxborough High School Sports Hall of Fame.

Following graduation, Butch devoted his career to serving the residents of Philadelphia as firefighter. Over the course of 35 years, he answered the call throughout every corner of the city, protecting lives and property with unwavering commitment. He retired from Engine 39 and Ladder 30 in Roxborough, concluding a distinguished career marked by professionalism, courage, and dedication to public service. In addition to his career as a firefighter, he had his own construction business which he managed for many years.

More than anything else, Butch was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his beloved wife, Betsy; his children, Wayne Christman and his wife Denise of Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania; Mark Christman and his wife Denise of Wayne, Pennsylvania; and Beth Ann Ferzoco and her husband Joe of King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Ally, Tim, Sam, and Lindsey, each of whom brought him immeasurable joy and pride.

Butch will be remembered for his strength, loyalty, and dedication to family. His life was a testament to hard work, sacrifice, and love, and his memory will live on in all who had the privilege of knowing him.
