Kathleen Long Obituary

Kathleen T. Long, affectionately known as "Kate," peacefully passed away on February 4, 2026, at the age of 91. Born on June 2, 1934, in Philadelphia, she was a cherished mother, beloved grandmother, and devoted great-grandmother. Kathleen was the wife of the late Richard Joseph Webster and the late Earl J. Long.Kate was devoted to her family and friends and to her Catholic faith.

After losing her husband, Dick, she enrolled in nursing school to earn her LPN and later her RN. She then dedicated her life to nursing, beginning her remarkable career at Roxborough Memorial Hospital. She made her mark as the first Nursing Director at Meadowood in the skilled nursing facility, where her compassion and dedication touched the lives of many. Even after retirement, she continued to give back, working at a greeting card store, delighting in the joy that her greeting card purchases brought to others.

Kate is survived by her loving children, Kathleen Paula Webster (Teresa Galetti), Ann Marie Felix (the late Ron), Richard Joseph Webster (Ernesto DeLara), and Carol Lynn Scheuerman (Karl). As a devoted grandmother, she cherished every moment with her grandchildren, Ryan Daniel Webster (Kelly), and Maya and Noelle Scheuerman. She took great pride in being a great-grandmother to little McKenna Webster. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Genevieve (nee McNichol) Farrell, her sisters Genevieve "Jane" Devenney and Frances Halligan, and her son, Daniel Joseph Webster.

Kate found joy in the simple pleasures of life - feeding and watching the birds in her yard and she never missed an opportunity to decorate her home for every holiday, filling the homes of her family with warmth and cheer. Community service was close to her heart, and she regularly volunteered for Meals on Wheels and at her church, Saint Mary's in Schwenksville.

Loved by many and missed dearly, Kate's life will be celebrated with a funeral service at Koller Funeral Home on February 10, 2026, at 11:00 AM, preceded by a public viewing starting at 9:30 AM. Interment in Calvary Cemetery.

Her spirit will surely live on in the stories shared and the love bestowed upon her family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her name to the Dominican Sisters of Hawthorne who took care of Danny all those years (600 Linda Avenue, Hawthorne, NY 10532), the Kathleen Webster Long Scholarship at Thomas Jefferson University or to the Dock Woods and The Willows of Living Branches Sharing Fund.
