Julianne A. Glodek, formerly of Roxborough, passed away on June 10, 2023 at the age of 99. She was the beloved wife for 78 years of the late Joseph W. Glodek. Devoted mother of Karen Arlinghaus and Michele Cesena (preceded in death by her sons-in-law, John C. Arlinghaus and Joseph G. Polzer). Daughter of the late Alexander and Rozalia (nee Bajur (Boyer)). Loving sister to her late brothers and sister John, Joseph, and Edward, and Anne. Grandmother to Erin McIntosh (Michael), Kelly Arlinghaus, and Carlos Cesena (Bari Pollock), Anthony Polzer (Laura), and Christopher Polzer (Shera). Great-grandmother to McKenna and Parker McIntosh and Mia and Ella Polzer.
Julia was born in Mahanoy City in upstate Pennsylvania and later moved to the Philadelphia region after meeting Joseph, the love of her life. Julia was an active volunteer for St. Josaphat's church, PTA, and school for many years. She enjoyed baking and was known for her chruschiki and chocolate cake. Her rose garden was her pride and joy. She worked at the Philadelphia Flower Show for many years and was a volunteer at the polls. Julia was also a member of the 21st Ward senior group as well as Interac.
Services and interment will be private.
