Joseph Scharff Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of Joseph R. Scharff, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Born on October 3, 1951, in Philadelphia, Joe left this world on December 13, 2025, but his spirit remains woven into the fabric of his family and friends.

For 42 wonderful years, he was happily married to his one true love, Mary (nee Herman) Scharff. Together, they built a life full of love, laughter, and countless memories. Joe was the proud father of Joseph (Stacie), Mary (Alex) Duncan, Cynthia, George, and the late Daniel Scharff. He cherished his role as grandfather to Angel, Chloe, Olivia, Nicholas, Elizabeth, Madilyn, Alyssa, Joselyn, Hazel, and Michaela. Joe's legacy continues through all of them, a testament to his kindness and generosity.

Preceded in death by his father, Joseph, and his mother, Mary, he is survived by his nine siblings and numerous nieces and nephews.

Joe's family was at the center of his world. He was a man of few words, but those who knew him remember him as a gentle soul always ready to lend a helping hand-someone who would give the shirt off his back without a second thought.

Joe enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, often found settled in front of the TV indulging in his favorite old western movies and shows on Me TV. He had a way of making even the most mundane moments feel special just by being present.

Funeral services will be held on January 6, 2026 at Koller Funeral Home, 6835 Ridge Ave. Family and friends are invited to greet Joe's family beginning at 10 AM. All are welcome to join in celebrating a life well-lived with a Memorial Service at 11:30 AM. It will be a gathering filled with stories, laughter, and memories that reflect the love and legacy Joe created.

As we remember Joe, let us hold close the lessons he taught us in life-the importance of family, the joy of simple pleasures, and the strength of generosity. He will be deeply missed, but his spirit will forever live on in our hearts.
