Joseph A. Perillo, Sr. of Roxborough, died peacefully on September 15, 2024 - one month prior to his 92nd birthday. Born in Castelfranci, Provincia di Avellino, Campania, Italy to John and Maria Perillo (dec'd), Joe moved to the Germantown section of Philadelphia when he was 19 years old. He married his wife, Elena (nee DelRegno), before settling in Roxborough where they have shared their home for the last 55 years.
'Pop' was a devoted father to John A. Perillo and Joseph A. Perillo, Jr. (Meg). He was a Sears forklift operator for over 30 years. He enjoyed his wife's cooking and his daily glass of vino. He liked watching soccer and baseball on tv. In his later years, he would often sit on his porch watching wildlife in between tending to his garden. He would never pass up a chance to play cards or go fishing with his boys and grandkids.
'Nonno' was a proud grandfather to Luca and Lorenzo 'Ren' Perillo. 'Giuseppe' was a brother to Anna Tartaglione (Perillo). Joe was a brother-in-law of Anna (Raffaele) Falco and Maria (Antonio) Falco (dec) and Lorenza DelRegno. As 'Zio' and 'Uncle' he enjoyed his nieces and nephews John (Maria), Sylvia (dec), Maria (John), Anthony (dec) Tartaglione; Assunta (Roberto) DiIiorio, Vincent (dec) and Anna Maria Falco; and as great-uncle to John, Steven, and Noelle Tartaglione; Angel Primwhere; Vincenzo (Rachel), Anthony (Sam) and Matthew Falco; Sandra (Alfonso) DiIorio Marchetta, Peter (Emily Marks) DiIorio; Anthony (Rachel) DiIorio, and all of their beloved children. Relatives and friends are invited to the viewing on Thursday September 19th at 9:30 A.M. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:30 A.M. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 819 Cathedral Rd, Phila., PA. 19128. Ent. Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
