Joseph H. Hoffman, Jr. (Whoopie), age 80 of Philadelphia, PA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2025. A lifelong resident of the Manayunk area of Philadelphia, he was born on October 10, 1944.
Whoopie was a Marine Veteran, serving as a Lance Corporal during the Vietnam War (1963-1967), a loving husband, a caring father, a wonderful uncle, grandfather and great grandfather. He was loved by all.
Son of the late Cleta Boneck and Joseph Hoffman, brother of John Hoffman, Cleta Boneck, Linda Boneck and Nancy Boneck. Whoopie is survived by his wife, Donna, his sons, Joseph (Sally), Nicholas, Michael (Kristen Patafio), and his daughter, Donna Ann. He leaves behind six grandchildren, Joseph Hoffman (Tara), Domonique Varallo (Jeff), Amanda Hoffman, Matthew Schreiber, Madison Cannon and Tyler Patafio. Along with seven great grandchildren, Kaylee, Colton and Cody Varallo; Chase Harding; Michael Beverly, Joseph and Ava Hoffman.
Friend and family are invited to greet Whoopie's family on Saturday beginning at 10 AM at Koller Funeral Home, 6835 Ridge Ave. A Memorial Service will follow at 11 AM. Interment in Westminster Cemetery.
