We mournfully announce the passing of John Joseph Majewski Jr. (Huck), age 74, of Roxborough. He passed away on January 7, 2021 at Chestnut Hill Hospital after battling complications from COVID-19.
John was born on November 6, 1946 to John Majewski and Bessie Schweizer in Philadelphia. He pursued his lifelong career in machining and opened his own business CCSI where he dedicated over 30 years of his life. John married the love of his life Frances (Sally) Majewski (nee Gill) on September 5, 1970. Together, they had three children John Majewski, Dawn O’Leary, Michael Majewski, son-in-law, Shawn and five grandchildren Michael, Lindsey, Gavin, Dylan, and Tyler.
John was a force of nature determined to provide for his family and give them the life he thought they deserved. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world. He often mentioned how undeniably proud of all of his children and grandchildren he was. And, he absolutely adored his beautiful wife. John always tried his best to support all of them.
John was also very passionate about music. He had a beautiful voice and he loved to sing. He played the drums and the tambourine and loved to dance. John was a member of the band, The Citations in the 1960s. John was a Vietnam Veteran and served in the United States Army.
Everyone who knew John, knew that he was the most loving father and husband a family could ask for. He was a passionate, hardworking, selfless man that would do anything for anyone. John's smile would light up a room. He will be greatly missed and will be forever in our hearts.
John was predeceased by his parents, John and Bessie Majewski and brother, William Majewski.
John is survived by his wife, Sally Majewski and children John Majewski III, Mike Majewski, Dawn O’Leary. Son-in-law Shawn O’Leary and his five grandchildren Michael Majewski, Lindsey Majewski, Gavin O'Leary, Dylan Majewski, and Tyler Majewski. Also survived by siblings Linda Pavlak (Jim), Sissy Fisher (Less), Debbie Havener (Dave), Ed Majewski (Fran), and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to Graveside service at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, 3301 West Cheltenham Ave, Philadelphia, Pa 19150 on January 14 at 11 AM. If unfamiliar with cemetery, please wait at main entrance for arrival of procession. Social distancing and masks required.
John's family will hold a Memorial service at a later date to celebrate his life.
