James William Mcintyre passed away unexpectedly at Reading Hospital on August 9, 2021 at the age of 52.
Born and raised in Manayunk, James was the son of Howard and Pamela, brother to Howard, Dawn, Kimberely, and Brian. James was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his soulmate of 34 years, Michelle McIntyre; his three daughters Pamela (Kyle), Jamie (Jessie), Alexia (Jared), and one son James Jr (Kimberely). He was the loving grandfather of 10 grandbabies, Kylie, Kyle Jr, Karter, Kason, Cayden, Jessiel, Lillyanna, Kaliah, McKenna, and Xavier. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and friends.
James worked as a truck driver for Carlton B. Geesaman Inc. He was an outdoorsman who spent many days in upstate Pennsylvania hunting with his father and brothers. One of his favorite pastimes was cruising on his Harley with his wife. But most of all James loved spending time with his grandchildren and family. He was a member of the Hunters and Anglers in Middletown, Pennsylvania, a Sons of American Legion, and American Legion of Hershey, Pennsylvania.
Known most for his compassion, selflessness and ability to make everyone he encountered feel loved. Jimmy’s louder than life personality was infectious, to say he knew how to light up a room is an understatement. To know him was to know you were in great company, which shows in the many friendships he has made throughout his life.
Relatives and friends are invited to pay their respects from 4 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, August 15 at Koller Funeral Home, 6835 Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia. Interment is private.
