James F. Blurton, 71, of Roslyn, PA, July 2, 2020. He was born in North Wildwood, NJ., moved to Philadelphia, PA, followed by Roxborough, PA, and then Ardsley, PA. Beloved husband of 46 years to Patricia A. Blurton (nee Shaughnessy). Brother of Charles F. Blurton, Jr., Jane Blurton Eldridge Eriskin, David Blurton, and Helen Blurton Kreckel.
Life long and devoted member of Queen of Peace Church, Ardsley, PA. An active member of Knights of Columbus - Flaherty Council 3128, and Men of Queen of Peace (MOQOP). Member of the American Legion Glenside Post 248. In addition, he was a devoted volunteer to The Little Sisters of the Poor in Philadelphia, PA. Jim was always concerned with the welfare of his family, relatives, and friends.
James served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam war in Guam as Sergeant D-4 Fuel Specialist Supervisor. James received the National Defense Service Medal, Air Force Good Conduct Medal, and Air Force Commendation Medal.
James was a retired Piano Mover/Truck Driver for Taylor Piano Music. James was the requested piano deliverer for major celebrities such as Frank Sinatra, Liberace, Three Tenors, and Eugene Ormandy requested Jim for main events for the Academy of Music in Philadelphia, PA. Jim also worked for the Temple Music Fair every summer for many years.
Relatives and Friends are invited to the Viewing and Services on Monday, July 13, 2020 at Queen of Peace Church, 820 N Hills Avenue, Ardsley, PA 19038: Rosary 9:15 a.m., Viewing 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., and Funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery of West Conshohocken, 235 E Matsonford Road, Conshohocken, PA 19428.
