It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Helen M. Conlen, a cherished matriarch and beloved member of our family, who departed this life on April 3, 2026, at the age of 96. Born on September 13, 1929, in Philadelphia, PA, Helen was a shining light in the lives of those around her, leaving behind a legacy of love and strength.
Helen was the devoted wife of the late Walter W. Conlen and a loving mother to her sons Ronald (Debra), Dennis (Mary), Paul (Susan) Conlen, and her daughter Donna House. She will be deeply missed by her seven grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride. Preceding her in death were her parents, Thomas and Mary Moore, and her brother Thomas.
A remarkable woman, Helen's wisdom and life lessons were shared with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She was passionate about reading and adored her dogs, which brought her comfort and companionship throughout her life.
Helen was not just a mother; she was the matriarch of her family, raising them in Manayunk and Roxborough with unwavering love and guidance. Her nurturing spirit and fierce dedication left a profound impact on all who knew her.
In celebration of her incredible life, a public viewing will be held at St. John the Baptist Church on April 8, 2026, from 9:00 am to 10:30 am, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM. Interment in Westminster Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor Helen's memory, sharing stories and love in a fitting tribute to a remarkable woman.
As we bid farewell to Helen, let us remember the warmth of her smile and the strength of her love. She will remain forever in our hearts.
