Gerri dedicated her life to a nursing career for over 30 years in Detroit, Michigan at Beaumont Hospital and Henry Ford Hospital. Gerri advocated for patients with compassion and kindness. She was recognized for this with many awards and honors throughout her career. In 2016, she was honored with the Michigan Emergency Nurses Association Lifetime Achievement Award. Her passion for nursing advocacy was evident in her active involvement in the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA), where she was an active committee member, chairperson of the state ENA Education Conference and Michigan ENA President (2008).
Always a dedicated nurse, Gerri recently volunteered to administer COVID vaccines through the Delaware Emergency Nurses organization.
Gerri was a very caring, loving and generous person who always saw the best in people. She loved all animals, but especially her precious cats. She will be remembered for her frequent and cheerful laugh, her "can do" attitude and her enthusiastic pleasure in simple things.
Gerri will continue to make a difference by being an organ donor through the Gift of Life Program.
