Frank Magee Obituary

Frank Joseph Magee was born in Philadelphia, PA on March 15, 1947. On May 14, 2020, Heaven called for their best Marine. Frank answered the call.

His father, Frank L. and his mother Sara preceded Frank in death.  He is survived by his wife of nearly 50 years, Sarah (Jordan), his three sons Frank, Kevin (Vanessa) and Shawn (Genevieve), his sister Patricia Pappas (Ron), and his seven grandchildren, Mark, Matthew, Brooke, Angela, Victoria, Alexandra and Christian.

He graduated from Father Judge High School in 1965 and went on to earn an Associates Degree in Nursing from the Community College of Philadelphia. As a proud Delta Company 1st Battalion 7th Marines Combat Veteran of the Vietnam War, Frank used his nursing career to dedicate his life caring for other veterans at the Veterans Affairs Emergency Room.

Sports were a driving force in his life. He was an avid Eagles, Flyers and Phillies fan. Talking about the games and sports trivia was one of his favorite past times. His true passion was coaching baseball and football. He loved coaching his sons most of all. Volunteering much of his time at the Wissahickon AA, 21st Ward, Chestnut Hill Academy and Prep Charter.  Frank mentored hundreds of young men during his coaching career.

Due to current restrictions, there will be a small family graveside service on Wednesday, May 27th at 11:00 am. If you would like to observe and pay your respects from a safe distance, Frank will be laid to rest at Whitemarsh Memorial Park located at 1169 Limekiln Pike in Ambler, PA.
