It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Eleanor T. Casselli, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, who left us on November 8, 2025, at the age of 77. Born on October 3, 1948, in Philadelphia, PA, Eleanor lived a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
Eleanor was the devoted wife of the late Patrick Casselli and a proud mother to Kelli Mignona (Anthony) and Kerri Casselli (Joe Taeffner), grandmother to Stephanie Mignona and Anthony C. Mignona (Bianca). She had a special bond with her family and friends, and her warmth radiated through every interaction.
She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, George and Catherine Carr, along with her brothers and sisters-who all held a special place in her heart: Thomas Marren, John Marren, Margaret Horn, Patsy McNamee, Catherine Bonner, Elizabeth Morgan, and Dolores Lane. Eleanor leaves behind her sister Marie DeLuca (William); her nephew and life-long best friend, Kevin Marren; her devoted friend and caregiver April MacDonald, and a multitude of nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
Eleanor spent much of her life dedicated to her work in the food service industry, starting at the Adam's Mark Hotel when it first opened and later serving with unwavering commitment at Rivercrest Country Club. Her genuine care for others made her a favorite among patrons and colleagues alike. One couple at Rivercrest even named their daughter Eleanor in her honor.
An avid reader, Eleanor loved Stephen King, Anne Rice, true crime and mysteries. She was a talented singer and could whistle the most complex tunes with ease. Her love of music led to her seeing Tom Jones, Rod Steward and Elvis more times than she could count. She had a particular obsession with her darling Yorkies, Bernadette and Sebastian, who never failed to bring a smile to her face. She was also a dedicated fan of the Philadelphia Phillies, proudly cheering them on with her characteristic flair and enthusiasm right into this past partially Red October. Her love of the color red is legendary amongst her friends and family as she always sported the color in her hair, clothes, cars and anything else she could find. Always one to present herself with elegance, Eleanor never left home without donning a pair of high heels perfectly matched to her outfit--a testament to her vibrant spirit and fashion sense.
Eleanor's family will receive friends and loved ones for public viewing at the Koller Funeral Home on Monday, November 17, 2025, from 6-8 PM. The following day, November 18, 2025, a public viewing will take place at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 819 E. Cathedral Road, starting at 9:30 AM, leading into a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM to celebrate Eleanor's life and the joy she brought to so many. Interment in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Eleanor's memory to the American Cancer Society, honoring her battle and the love she had for those around her.
Eleanor's spirit will forever remain in our hearts, a reminder of the unbreakable bonds of family and friendship. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
