Edward F. Cavalcante, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and great-great-grandfather, passed away peacefully on December 14, 2025, at the age of 98. Born in Philadelphia, PA, on March 22, 1927, Ed was a man who cherished family, friendships, and the simple joys of life.
Married to the love of his life, Florence M., in 1967, their bond was an enduring testament to love and partnership. Together, they raised a family that brought Ed immense pride and joy. He is survived by his adored daughter, Valerie Cavalcante-Keller (the late Scott), and his son, Edward Terebieniec. Ed was also the proud father of the late Frances Esbensen and Anthony Ramondo.
In addition to his children, Ed was deeply thankful for his long-time caretaker, Rita Smolinski, who became like a daughter to him. Her compassion and dedication were appreciated beyond words.
Ed found unparalleled happiness in being a grandfather to Tia, Michelle, and Lee, and relished his role as great-grandfather to Christina, Nicole, Lauriana, and Lola, as well as great-great-grandfather to Anthony, Giovanni, Jayda, and Marcus Jr. His family was his heart, and nothing brought him more joy than being surrounded by them.
Ed was a familiar face at the East End Tavern, where he enjoyed time with friends and was known as a "regular." He had a passion for fishing, gardening, and an eclectic taste in music. Inspired by life's simple pleasures, he was also a devoted cigar aficionado.
Services and Interment are Private.
Ed will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him. His legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
