It is with tremendous sadness that we share that David E. Swisher, Jr., passed away with his daughter, Jade at his side on September 10, 2024, at age 65 after a long illness which he battled valiantly. He was the loving husband of the late Faith (Troup) Swisher. He is survived by his beloved daughter, Jade Swisher, as well as his parents, David E. and Nancy Swisher, and siblings, Dan Swisher and Sue (Tom) Ball. He is also survived by his dear nephew Nicholas Beaver (Anna) and many other cherished friends and family. He will be missed and celebrated by all who knew him.
David was born and raised in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania and graduated from Bloomsburg High School where he distinguished himself in track and basketball. He attended Luzerne County Community College after which he joined the United States Army serving honorably until discharge to pursue a career as a Philadelphia Police Officer. He then worked tirelessly defending the City of Philadelphia as a police officer until his retirement in 2020.
Relatives and friends are invited to Call at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 17, 2024 at Koller Funeral Home, 6835 Ridge Avenue., Philadelphia. A Funeral Service will follow at 12:30 p.m. Interment is private.
