Cyril Kaspar, Jr. Obituary

It is with heavy hearts but joyful memories that we announce the passing of Cyril J. Kaspar Jr., fondly known as "Cy," who was called home by the Lord on November 19, 2025 at the age of 85. Born in Philadelphia on April 27, 1940, Cy was a beloved pillar of the community. Regarded by many as a local legend and Roxborough's mayor-for-life, Cy was a cherished husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, whose life was defined by his service to others.

Cy celebrated a remarkable 61 years of marriage with his beloved wife, "the love of his life", Judy, on October 3rd. Their love was a shining example of dedication and partnership. Together, they raised a wonderful family-Jennifer Michelle, Michael Kaspar, Tracie Kaspar, and Julie Pitts-each of whom will remember him for his unwavering support, kindness, and infectious laughter. Cy was a proud grandfather to Christopher and Adam Okula, Gabrielle Dillman, Michael Jr., Alex, and Zach Kaspar, Caitlin Foley, Michael (Becca), Brandon and Joseph Angelo, and Juliana and Ryan Pitts. He delighted in the company of his three great-grandchildren, Gia, Rylee and Domenic Forte, and his "great-grand-dog" Winnie, who brought him immense joy.

As a son of the late Cyril and Ruth Kaspar, Cy will be lovingly missed by his sisters, Barbara Gallo, Loretta Consolo, and Donna Kerper, along with countless nieces, nephews, and friends who were fortunate enough to know him. He will also be joyfully reunited with his "wonder dog," Tish, who, in his heart, was the best dog ever!

Cy spent a fulfilling career as a life and casualty insurance salesman with John Hancock before realizing his dream of entrepreneurship. Fifty-one years ago, he founded Kaspar's Pest Control, where he considered his clients not just customers, but family. He was always there to lend a hand or an ear, making lasting connections in his community. His heart also belonged to Walnut Lane Golf Course, where he spent countless hours volunteering and eventually working, showcasing his love for the game and his community.
A skilled athlete at heart, Cy was always on the move-enjoying golf and participating in numerous local softball leagues. His zest for life was contagious, inspiring those around him to live fully and embrace each day.

In celebration of Cy's incredible life, a Mass will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church on November 25, 2025, at 11:00 AM. Before the service, there will be an opportunity from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM for those who wish to offer their condolences to the family. All are welcome to join at the Church in honoring the man who brought so much joy and laughter into our lives.

As we gather to remember and celebrate Cy, let us share our stories, our love, and our laughter-the things he cherished most. Thank you, Cy, for sharing a life well-lived and for all the little moments along the way. Our main man - pots and pans - will forever be in our hearts.

Donations to The Friends of Gorgas Park can graciously be made in Cy's name via their website: https://www.gorgaspark.com/donate/
