Charlotte L. Cunningham, beloved Aunt, neighbor, and lifelong advocate for animals, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025 at the age of 90. Her gentle spirit, generous heart, and kindness touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born in Philadelphia, Charlotte lived in her childhood home and enjoyed the friendship she found among her neighbors. She took pride in her career with Bell Telephone Company for over 30 years until her retirement in 1986. Charlotte's hobbies included quilting, needlepoint and drawing. She lovingly raised numerous pets over the years and was dedicated to supporting both child and animal welfare organizations throughout her lifetime.
Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents, Russell and Anna (Hohlfeld) Cunningham and her brother, Robert R. Cunningham. She is survived by her nephews, Scott (Larae) and Robert A. (Nancy) Cunningham, her nephews and nieces, Jennifer (Mindy), Jeffrey, Kevin (Josa), Colleen (Scott) and Erik (Anne). She is also survived by five grand nephews and nieces, Mary, Maggie, Lizzy, Rusty and Nathan, along with many neighbors, all whose lives were touched by her presence.
A celebration of her life will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to Philly Paws, https://phillypaws.org/donate/, honoring her lifelong devotion to the animals she loved so dearly.
