Cara Jablow Obituary

Cara Kathleen Jablow, 51, died peacefully June 10, 2025, at her KenCrest community living home in Horsham, PA. Cara was enrolled in a KenCrest early intervention program from one month to two and a half years of age. She attended The Gladwyne Montessori School until age ten and Our Lady of Confidence Day School until age 21. She worked as a teacher's aide for 25 years, first at Ken Crest's East Falls Childcare Center and, after it closed, at the Roxborough YMCA Childcare Center until 2020. She was proud of being named "employee of the month" at the YMCA. An enthusiastic swimmer and dancer, Cara took dance classes at the Arlene Forest School of Dance in Roxborough and performed with its Traveling Troupe to entertain nursing home residents. She swam regularly and took fitness classes at the Roxborough YMCA and participated in Special Olympics gymnastics. Cara's longtime friend, Susan Saint James, took Cara to the Special Olympics World Games in 1995 and to the International World Games in Ireland 2003. Two organizations enriched Cara's life for decades. The Association of Adults with Developmental Disabilities (AADD) and Jewish Family and Children's Services (JFCS) provided numerous trips and social events as well as cherished friendships with fellow members and staff. Cara is survived by her father Paul Jablow of Bryn Mawr, her mother Martha Jablow and her brother David Jablow of Philadelphia. Her family is eternally grateful to her caregivers Hanane Goumri, Alida Black, and Dwan Clark, as well as many others who have supported and befriended Cara over the years.

A Celebration of Life memorial will be held in the near future.
