Anna Marie "Nancy" McHugh, of North Wales, formerly of Roxborough, on May 26, 2022 at the age of 90. Wife of the late John P. McHugh Sr. Mother of John Jr., Thomas (Jacqueline), Michael (Joanne), and Nancy Fox (Eric). Also survived by 5 grandchildren, Daniel McHugh, Katherine Fox, Kristen Hurst, Melissa Hurst, and Erin Fox-Miller and 5 great grandchildren. Sister of Mary Fallat and Joan Lindenhoffer.
Anna Marie McHugh was born Anna Marie Murphy to her parents the late Thomas and Anne-Marie Murphy (nee Kilgallen). She attended Immaculate Conception Elementary School and went on to Little Flower High School. Nancy had an exceptional voice. She sang at Sunday Mass at Immaculate Conception. Her father took her downtown to participate in a singing contest on Will Reagan's Irish Hour. She won in 1948 and performed on the show ever Sunday, singing along with Irish Celtic Band. She also performed in countless Irish Balls which were held throughout the city in Church Halls. That is where she met her husband John . He also won a singing contest and they soon were performing together. They married in 1951. She continued singing with her husband at parties and at church.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet Nancy's family on Tuesday, May 31st beginning 9:30 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 819 E. Cathedral Road, Philadelphia. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Interment Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
