Anita R. Vivas Obituary
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Anita ("Nita") R. Vivas, 80, of Philadelphia, PA, who entered into eternal rest on March 23, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and kindness.
Nita was born in Janopol, Tanauan, Batangas, Philippines and taught elementary school before emigrating to Philadelphia in the early 1990s. A loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, she worked hard to help care for her family no matter where in the world they were. Whatever she could offer, whether it was an ear to listen, advice to give, or food to nourish, Nita gave all she had to family and friends alike. To have known someone as caring and generous as her is truly a blessing. She will be greatly missed by so many.
Nita was preceded in death by her beloved parents Gaudencio and Juana; three brothers Lito, Jose, and Florencio; and brother-in-law Resty. She is survived by her sisters Zosima, Emma, and Ellen; brother Thelmo; sisters-in-law Cely, Annie, and Annie; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews all around the world. She also leaves behind many other family members and friends.
A Viewing will be held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 819 E. Cathedral Road, on Saturday, March 29 beginning at 9:30 AM. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM.
