Stephen Pietrzykowski passed away at the young age of 73 on November 17, 2022. He left behind his beloved wife of 48 years, Linda Pietrzykowski (nee Ogborn); his three children, Stephen Pietrzykowski (Jill), Topper (Kristopher) Pietrzykowski (Amy), and Robbe (Robynlin) Bucci (Vinnie); and his grandchildren, Maddie, Max, and Ella. Steve also is survived by many cousins, relatives and friends and by his granddogs, Sherman, Grant, and Poppy. Steve was the son of the late Henry and Helen Pietrzykowski (nee Praczek) and was born and raised in Manayunk/Roxborough in Philadelphia. Steve was a graduate of Roman Catholic High School and remained a supportive and proud alumnus throughout his life. He was a veteran of the Navy and served in the Vietnam War. In 1970 he met the love of his life, Linda, at Gulf Oil where they both worked. He married her in 1974 and he called her his "lovely bride" for their whole marriage. In 1976, Steve and Linda moved to Houston, Texas for work, where they started their family. They eventually came back to their hometown of Roxborough in 1986 with their three young kids in tow. Steve attended St. Joseph's University at night, graduated with a B.S. in Business, and most recently worked in equipment leasing at the DLL Group before retiring early at the age of 60. In his retirement, Steve spent most of his time with his wife, children, grandchildren and granddogs, all of whom adored him. Steve was an avid lover of all things baseball, especially the Phillies, and taught his boys baseball for years. He also loved the Eagles, spending many Sundays either at the game or in his basement with his kids and friends rooting the Eagles on or cursing them out. Steve was a great listener and loved spending time and talking sports with his sons and discussing the events and gossip of the day with his daughter every night. He was especially fond of his son and daughters in-laws who kept his kids in-check and regularly competed to be his favorite. Steve was adored by his grandchildren and granddogs, as he was the perfect playmate, listener and naptime buddy. Most of all, he loved his "Lynnie" and couldn't survive without her, often following her around the house to see what she was doing next, or requesting trips to the bank, the post office or a special mailbox. Steve will be missed immensely by many. He had the ability to make people love him instantly and feel at ease with his charm and humor. He was kind, but honest, and didn't pull any punches. Steve also was an endearing and quirky creature of habit, complaining until the very end that Linda wouldn't mail his letters at the correct mailbox. He will be remembered for his kindness, his humor and his love of telling hilariously entertaining stories about his life and the life of his family growing up. Steve loved life and survived insurmountable odds by willing his heart to hold on long enough to see his children and grandchildren grow and be happy. Steve was a loving husband, an amazing and proud dad, a wonderful and doting Dziadek and a true and loyal friend to many. For all of his charm and quirks, he was made of the stuff that legends are made of, and stories of him will be told for years to come. Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing on Tuesday, November 22, 2022 from 6-8 PM at Koller Funeral Home, 6835 Ridge Ave. On Wednesday, November 23, 2022 a Viewing will be held starting at 9:30 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 819 E. Cathedral Road, Philadelphia. A Funeral Mass will follow at 10:30 AM. Interment in Westminster Cemetery.
