Robert William
Denham
Nov 20, 1946 — Jul 13, 2026
Robert "Bob" William Denham, of Roxborough, Philadelphia, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 13, 2026, surrounded by loved ones after a hard-fought battle with cancer. He was 79 years old.
Bob was born on November 20, 1946, and raised in the Olney section of Philadelphia by Sarah (Connor) and William Denham. He is survived by his two sons, Daniel and Michael; daughters- in-law Sarah Sweeney-Denham and Erica Carter; and grandchildren Mambs and Jack Denham. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Virginia "Ginger" Denham.
Bob was a husband, a father, a Grandpop, a veteran, and a builder, and he lived those roles enthusiastically and joyfully. With Ginger at his side, he dreamed up ambitious projects and made their homes their own. His devotion to his family was boundless - he would arrive with his tool belt without hesitation for family, friends, and neighbors throughout his life. He was a proud steamfitter and member of Steamfitters Union Local 420.
He was known for his gregarious, cheerful personality and his gift for storytelling. Bob maintained close ties with his childhood buddies throughout his life, regaling us with tales of their fun times on Landis Street.
A defining part of Bob's life was his service in the Navy on the USS Hancock during the Vietnam War. Bob loved sea fishing, though more for the experience than for the fish he caught. He designed and crafted beautiful stained glass pieces for friends and family. And he loved big adventures - traveling through Europe or across the US in their Winnebago - just as much as he loved the small, quiet moments spent with family and friends.
A viewing will be held at Koller Funeral Home, 6835 Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19128, on Friday, July 17, at 10:00 am, followed by a funeral service at 11:30 am, and burial at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
