Nancy A.
(Negro) Di Pietro
Jan 26, 1917 — Apr 15, 2016
In loving memory of Nancy Negro DiPietro , age 99, of Haverford, PA, who passed away peacefully at Bryn Mawr Hospital on April 15, 2016.
Nancy was born on Jan. 26, 1917 to parents, Ida DiBrigida and Joseph Negro. She had 4 sisters, Caroline Orlandi (deceased), Mary Torrieri (deceased), Teresa Herbst, and Agnes Cifaldi, and 3 brothers, John Negro(deceased), Michael Negro, and Joseph Nagro. After graduating from Hallahan High School, Nancy worked at National Publishing Co. where she met her husband, Nicholas Di Pietro (deceased). Nancy and Nick were happily married for 60 years, and had 4 children – Donald DiPietro (Deceased), Dr. John Di Pietro (Deceased), Joanna Shuart (Texas) and Dr. Nancy Di Pietro (Wynnewood). They also have 8 grandchildren – Helena Galle, Dawn Louis Jean, Nicholas Di Pietro, Jaime Bakoss, Jordan Di Pietro, Justin Shuart, Jeffrey Danzig and Alicia Danzig. In addition, they have 9 great grandchildren and 1 step great grandchild. When considering the spouses of each family member, Nancy and Nick created a large family clan and a wonderful legacy! Nancy, affectionately known as Mom Mom, will be missed and remembered lovingly by each of them.
Nancy had a passion for pinochle, and she and Nick enjoyed playing cards with family and friends over the years. They loved to go to the Jersey shore on summer vacations, where Nancy made it a tradition of not going into the water. Instead she read a book on the beach. Nancy loved to read and play word puzzles and was the best speller in the family! She also loved to garden. She could take a lifeless plant and have it blooming again in no time. Nancy was a lucky person - lucky in love, lucky at the lottery and the slot machines, lucky at life! She lived to be 99 years old. Not many people achieve such a milestone! Nancy was a hard worker, a loyal friend and a strong and independent woman! Throughout her life, she maintained a calm and serene manner. Not once did she complain about life's challenges. She was an amazing woman, an exemplary role model, and an inspiration to her family and friends!
