It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Michael E. Popowicz, who departed from us on September 28, 2026, in Philadelphia, PA. Born on May 16, 1959, Michael lived a full life devoted to his family and community.

A cherished husband to Ines Stelzer, Michael was a proud father to Justin Popowicz (Jenn) and Jessica Popowicz (Andrew Graber), and a devoted grandfather to his beloved grandchildren: Jordynn, Layla, DeAndre, JJ, and Frankie. He found immense joy in watching his grandkids play sports, always eager to offer advice and support from the sidelines.

Michael and late co-owner Gerald Clemson together shared a successful business ISI. In his later years he was a dedicated member of the SEIU 32BJ union, where he spent his working years in maintenance, ensuring that he contributed positively to the lives of those around him. His commitment to his work and community reflected the deep values instilled in him by his parents, John and Stella (Romanowski) Popowicz, who preceded him in death.

Michael is also survived by his brother Jack Popowicz and sister Carol Forgione, along with nieces and nephews, Chris, Lauren, Jeff, John, and Deanna. His family will continue to carry on his legacy of love, laughter, and devotion.

In his younger years, he showcased his athletic prowess as a talented pitcher, playing for the 21st Ward baseball. Those who knew him will fondly remember his tales of baseball and his incredible talent for pitching.

Relatives and friends are invited to Koller Funeral Home on October 7th at 6 PM to greet his family. A Memorial Service will follow at 8:00 PM. Interment is private.

His laughter, wisdom, and love for family and sports will forever resonate in the hearts of those who knew him. Michael will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. May he rest in peace.
