Obituary

Olene Maxine Herrmann passed away on October 18, 2021. She was born March 23, 1930 to Oscar and Ludie Mai Richardson in Fairview Tennessee.

Maxine worked as a certified nurse aide and many were lucky to be touched by her healing care. Maxine never met a stranger and all were considered welcome. She loved gardening, painting, sewing, crocheting, and crafts. Made by her loving hands were dolls, blankets, and costumes for local plays/halloween. You could always find a painted rock in her garden. Her green thumb was of expert quality. Maxine shared the vegetables or flower seeds from her garden.

Maxine blessed her children with lullabies, hugs, kisses, a strong work ethic, a sense of humor, and a switch when necessary. She adored all of her grandchildren and taught them patience, empathy, and how to pick the best tomato in her magical garden. Maxine was loved, irreplaceable, and will forever be in our hearts.

She is proceeded in death by her son William (Billy) Barr, her husband Elmer Herrmann, and granddaughter Cara Barr. Maxine is survived by her children: George Barr (Angela), Joseph Barr (Nancy), Sarah Gallagher (Mark), Thomas Barr (Diane), Colleen Schulte (Dave Harris), Michael Barr (Elizabeth), 23 grand children, 32 great grand children, her sister's Margaret Reinheimer (Lud), Jean Shelton, Geneva Sheeran, Carolyn Tomlinson (Benton), and many beloved nieces and nephews.
