DONAHUE MARTIN JAMES Age 82, of Grove City, formerly of Penllyn, PA, passed away on September 9, 2021 in AHN-Grove City following a brief illness. Martin was born in Philadelphia to the late Martin Joseph and Mary Elizabeth (Scanlin) Donahue. Martin was raised in the Catholic faith and was a member of The Church of The Beloved Disciple, Grove City. He was a graduate of Roman Catholic High School in 1958 and received his undergraduate degree in Education from West Chester University. Martin earned two master's degrees from Catholic University in Liturgical Music and Westminster Choir College in Vocal Pedagogy. Martin retired from Abington School District where he was a music teacher for 30 years. Also, he was employed as a music director for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia for nearly 50 years. Martin also performed as a tenor both as a solo artist and in choirs, most notably the Bach Choir of Bethlehem and Singing City, Philadelphia. He is survived by three children, Kathleen Aguilar, West Chester, PA, Maureen Dunbar and husband, Ivan Shibley, Reading, PA, and Martin A. Donahue and wife Sara, Grove City, six grandchildren, Megan Dunbar, Jack Donahue, Kyle Dunbar, Emily Donahue, Nathan Aguilar, and Eric Dunbar, and two brothers, Vincent Donahue and wife JoAnn, Blue Bell, PA and Jim Donahue, Roxborough, PA. Memorial donations can be made to The Church of The Beloved Disciple. A Memorial Mass was held in The Church of The Beloved Disciple, 1310 S. Center St. Ext., Grove City, PA, on Friday, September 17, 2021, at 11:00 A.M.
