It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Linda M. Johnston, who departed this life on June 20, 2026. Linda lived 75 rich years filled with love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to her family.
Linda was an extraordinary mother and grandmother, whose nurturing spirit will be deeply missed by her four children: Aaron Hanson (Tracey), Elisha Markowski (Michael), Jennifer Johnston, and Freddy Johnston (Jess). She was a doting grandmother to Jared, Alexa (Gabe), Paige, Evan, Lucas, Avery, Juliet, Georgia, and Max, each of whom brought joy and pride to her life. Her warmth and compassion were evident in all her relationships, and her family was her greatest treasure.
Linda will be lovingly remembered by her siblings, Betty (Dutch), Margie (the late Louie), Jimmy (Shannon), Cathy (Ray), Mary (Buddy), and Frani; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and dear friends who were fortunate enough to experience her kindness and generosity. She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Rose (nee Viola) Hinkle, and her siblings George, Jessie (the late Edward), Bobby (Barbara), Carol (the late Bruce), and Jackie.
A public viewing will take place on June 25, 2026, 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM, allowing those who knew and loved Linda the opportunity to pay their respects. In celebration of her remarkable life, a Mass will be held at 11:00 AM. All services will be held at St. Timothy's Episcopal Church, 5720 Ridge Ave., Philadelphia, where family and friends can gather to honor her memory.
Linda gave freely of her heart and will be remembered eternally in the hearts of those she loved. Her spirit will live on in the stories shared and the memories cherished. May she rest in peace, surrounded by the love she so generously shared throughout her life.
