Karen A
Howard
Jan 25, 1957 — Mar 8, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Karen A. Howard, who left us on March 8, 2026, at the age of 69. Born on January 25, 1957, in Philadelphia, PA, Karen was a loving daughter, sister, and friend, who touched the lives of many with her kindness and compassion.
Karen was the beloved wife of the late Walter Howard. She is survived by her devoted mother, Lillian (nee Bono) Scipione, her brother, John Scipione, and cherished family members, including her niece, Lisa Scipione (Ian Spedding), her nephew, Anthony Scipione (Rudy) Gibson, and her great-niece, Isabel and Ellie. She also held a special bond with her best friend's niece, Jenna Powers. Karen shared a long and treasured friendship with Dawn Welsh and her husband, Jim, which enriched her life immensely.
A dedicated professional, Karen worked in accounts payable within the healthcare industry, where her caring nature shone through. She was known for her willingness to help others, never shying away from a challenge, and would lend a hand to anyone in need. Holidays, particularly those spent with the Lowery and Welsh families, brought her great joy, and she had a special love for the beach-Avalon being her favorite spot-and a fondness for her meals at Red Lobster.
Karen will be remembered for her warm heart, generous spirit, and the love she shared with those around her. She was preceded in death by her father, Anthony Scipione.
A public viewing will take place at Koller Funeral Home on March 12, 2026, beginning at 9:30 AM. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM, where family and friends will gather to celebrate Karen's life. Karen will be laid to rest at Westminster Cemetery, 701 Belmont Ave., Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004.
Karen's memory will live on in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace.
