Obituary

Karen Brock (nee Warneck), passed away on August 7, 2023, at the age of 67. She is fondly remembered by husband, Steve Brock, sister, Laura Gartner (Joseph), nieces and nephews Jessica Webster, Jared Gartner (Krissy Connolly), Rachael Gartner (Jim Flemming), great nieces and nephew, Mia Webster, Mason Webster, Skyler Flemming, and Beatrix Gartner, and many cousins. Karen was preceded in death by parents Joseph and Mary Warneck. Karen was a long-time resident of Roxborough, proud graduate of Hallahan High School '74 and Harcum College '81, and host to many wonderful Bike Race parties on The Wall. A life-long nature lover, she spent her career caring for animals as a Veterinary Technician for the Chestnut Hill Veterinary Hospital. She loved caring for pets, fishing, and riding her bike. She was an ever-present supporter of her nieces and nephew, never missing a birthday or an opportunity to photograph a dance recital, graduation, or baseball game. Karen was the loving wife of Steve Brock and his "angel." The pair married in 2014, and, in 2019, retired to Wellsboro, PA. They loved retired life and spent it taking long bike rides, photographing wildlife, exploring trails, and rooting for the Phillies and Eagles. She became an avid emailer, keeping friends and family up to date on her many adventures; from trips to see the neighboring horses) and views from the trail to stories of bears eating from her bird feeder. She was so happy to own a home in nature, where she could observe animals, adventure with Steve, and eat meals fresh from the garden. Friends and family will miss her kind smile, laughter, and joyful way of finding beauty every day. We invite you to celebrate her life at the Koller Funeral Home in Roxborough on Saturday, August 19th from 6:00pm - 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society https://phillypaws.org/ or Lab Rescue LRCP https://www.lab-rescue.org/
