Obituary

John P. Wheeler ("Jack") born on November 29, 1945 to the late John and Winnie Wheeler. He was the brother of Gary, Kevin and the late Wendy and Kim. Jack was a devoted husband married to his late wife Roselle ("Roe") for 51 years. Together, they have two daughters Annamarie Zawislak (Chris) and Kerston Augustine (Brian) and five grandchildren, Carly, Christopher Jr. and John Zawislak and Ava and Alyssa Augustine. His family was his greatest joy in life, along with his best friend, Molly. As a young man, Jack was drafted into the Army stationed in Alaska and upon his return to civilian life, he became a barber. To his surprise, this decision led to a business that started a legacy of more than 50 years in his beloved Roxborough. He not only styled hair but shaped a community by becoming a huge advocate for small businesses in the neighborhood. Jack had a gift for making his customers look and feel their best. When he was not in the barber shop, he enjoyed spending time with his family and Molly, golfing, walking down the Ridge, and cheering on the Eagles. Jack was always such a kind and generous person that everyone who knew him loved him. He will always be known for his happy go lucky attitude and sense of humor. He never had a bad day. Relatives and friends are invited to his Viewing on Monday, December 2 from 6-8pm and on Tuesday, December 3 from 9:30 to 11am at Koller Funeral Home located at 6825 Ridge Avenue, Philadelphia. A Funeral Service will follow at 11am. Interment is at George Washington Memorial Park, Plymouth Meeting.
