John Douglas "Doug" Lafferty of Manayunk passed away unexpectedly on Saturday October 7, 2023 at the age of 81. Doug was married for 58 years to his wife Phyllis Lafferty (nee Fahringer). He is the proud father to the late John Lafferty and Jeffrey Lafferty (Dana), and he is the beloved grandfather of Dylan Lafferty and Angelo and Gabriel Rosley. Doug was the favorite human of his grand-puppy, Claude and leaves behind countless friends, family and admirers who love him. Doug grew up in the Germantown section of Philadelphia before moving to and raising his family in Manayunk. While he had many jobs, Doug is best known for working at Bob's Bait Shop for years and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Doug enjoyed nothing more than sharing tales from his adventures and would go on for hours - and show photo proof of it all - if he could find an audience. Doug is a proud veteran, having served in the United States Army. Above all else, Doug was a beloved husband, devoted father and caring friend whose presence will be missed by all who know him.
