John M. Altomare, of Roxborough , Age 79, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2019, surrounded by his loving  family.  He was the son of Adolf and Mary Altomare.  Dear father of Catherine McLaughlin (John), John Altomare (Holly), and Marianne Altomare.  Doting grandfather of Steven, Sean, Amber, Crystal, Lily and Johnny. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren, Catalina and Calo.  Beloved brother of Theresa McMullen, Michael Altomare and Joanne McGinnis. Mr. Altomare is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews and many friends.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters Marie Lewocz, Pat Jones, and brothers Joe and Tony Altomare.   He was an employee of  Phila. School District and longtime member of Hi Spot Lanes corporation. Relatives and friends are invited to Viewing on Tuesday, April 16 from 9 to 11 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 819 E. Cathedral Rd. Philadelphia.  A Funeral Mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment is in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery, Cheltenham.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made in John's name to pennmedicine.org/cancer/giving , Center for Head and Neck Cancer, 800-789-7366.
