Joanne Palestini Engle (nee Draus), age 77, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 4th.

Born to the late John F. Draus and Stephanie (née Dachowski), Joanne attended J.W. Hallahan Catholic Girls' High School. She began her career at the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard, where she met her first husband, Joseph Palestini. They shared 25 wonderful years of marriage until his passing. Joanne later met and married Louis Engle, with whom she shared 11 memorable and cherished years and time camping with friends up country.

Throughout her life, Joanne was devoted to her family. She lovingly cared for her parents and husbands, always putting the needs of those she loved first. Joanne worked in the banking industry as a teller customer service representative for business customers at CoreStates Bank. She also spent many years working at the convent at St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. An exceptional cook, Joanne mastered both Polish and Italian cuisine. Her home-cooked meals were the highlight of countless gatherings with family and friends and became part of the memories cherished by all who had the pleasure of enjoying them.

Above all, Joanne was a devoted daughter, sister, loving wife, caring aunt, and loyal friend. Her generosity, warmth, and loving spirit touched the lives of everyone around her, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Joanne is survived by her two brothers, John Draus and Tom Draus (Anne); her nephew, Michael Draus (Kelly); her niece, Lucy Draus; four grandnieces - Abby, Molly, Mary and Amelia; and her beloved fur-niece, Moo.

Friends and family are invited to greet Joanne's family on Monday, August 17,2026, at St. Philip Neri Church at 10:00 am. A Funeral Mass will follow by at 11:00 am. Interment in Westminster Cemetery.
