Obituary

On January 15, 2023 Joan Lavin-Werner, Age 77, passed peacefully with her daughter by her side. Wife of the late James Werner. Mother of Melanie Bruce (Roy) and the late Robert Lavin (Sandra). Grandmother of Robert Lavin,Jr., Mateo and Kallysta Bruce. Daughter of the late James and Alice Trevethan. Sister of Carol Pownall (William), Richard Trevethan (Dee) and the late James Trevethan. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Joan was a hard worker for a large part of her life. She was the absolute best gardener in the world, in my opinion, and could take a lifeless plant and make it grow again.  Many would often tell me that her garden was the best on the block.  Her smile would light up and room and was contagious.  Many at her nursing home would say how much joy that brought them as they passed by her room or sat for a visit.

The seeds she planted in her life were of love and care with all those she spent time with.

She created beautiful memories with her whole family especially with the love she showered on her grandchildren. These memories will help us through the moments of sadness we will feel.

She loved all of Jehovah's creations, great and small, and especially her best friend Maddie who has now become a part of our family. We will love her just as much as mom (bushel and peck and her cute little neck as mommy would affectionately say)

Besides her love of gardening and caring for her furry friends, mommy spent time helping others to learn about Jehovah whether it was writing a letter or visiting people. She found great joy in being with her friends who cared just as much as she did about the grand promise of the resurrection that she will be a part of in the near future..

Thinking about the gardens we will grow together leaves me with a smile in my heart.

You were loved by many, my sunshine, and will be missed greatly. Well done, mommy.  Well done.
