Joan E. Kay

Joan E. Kay (nee Van Zandt) passed away peacefully on September 19, 2026. Wife of the late Norman Kay. Joan was the daughter of the late Sara Wicks and Chester Van Zandt. Sister of David Van Zandt (Bob), Kathy Van Zandt, Diane Coyne and the late Janet Trimber.

She leaves behind her loving children Joan Leslie (Bruce) and Jeffrey Kay (Donna). She was predeceased by her son, James Kay (Kathy).

Joan is also survived by her 11 grandchildren that she adored, Tara (Samih) Leighann (Michael), Brian (Kristy), Kimberly, Lindsey, Sharon, Daniel and Keith. As well as 8 great grandchildren, Sammi, Aiden, Michael, Mikayla, Autumn, Gianna, Samantha and Ryan.

She was also loved my many nieces and nephews.

Joan was a lifelong resident of Roxborough. She loved attending the local Fourth of July parade and volunteering at her children's schools. Joan retired in 2004 from Roxborough High School as a secretary in the counselor's office and belonged to Roxborough Lioness Club.

Family and friends are invited to a visitation with Joan's family at Koller Funeral Home on October 2, 2026, at 10:30 a.m. A memorial service will follow at 12:00 PM. Family and friends are welcome to attend and celebrate Joan's life and legacy.
