Obituary

James Koller died peacefully on Monday, July 13th, 2026, after an incredible survival story battling Mother Nature in June 2020. We had 6 extra years with him, and for that we are grateful. Jim Koller (Jimmy, JeeMee) was known for his outgoing personality and quick wit. He was never at a loss for words, and he made sure to fill moments with humor and impart his wisdom on willing (and sometimes unwilling) recipients. He was a lovable guy and so much fun to be around; we are all richer for his attention. Jim had a zest for life; he was an avid deep-sea diver and world-wide traveler. He loved music, and Philly sports teams, especially the Birds, the Phils, and the Flyers. Jim enjoyed fine foods and specialty wines, and making limoncello for us all to enjoy. One of Jim's first jobs was putting up the famous Wanamaker light show at Christmas back in the 1970s. He also worked at Lederle Laboratories warehouse in Fort Washington and held a board position at the Roxborough Turners Club, where he was a lifelong member. Jim attended Roman Catholic and Roxborough High Schools. He went back to trade school to become a licensed HVAC technician where he worked at Boyle Brothers and Haly. He was a member of the Steamfitters Union 420 and remained close with many people there even after he retired. Some became his travel companions. Jim was someone who made, and kept, lifelong friends. These include neighborhood friends, high school friends, work friends and Turners friends that he saw and spoke to regularly. Jim was guardian to his granddaughters. Lauren Danner and Jenna Danner are the children of his only daughter Alicia Hendricks (deceased) with his first wife Judy Bird (deceased). Jim was so proud of his daughter and all of her accomplishments, as she graduated from Drexel University and worked in engineering. They had a close relationship, and he cared for his granddaughters this past year. He loved his granddaughters a thousand times over. The love of his life was his wife Linda (nee Fine, deceased); they were married for over 23 years. Jim was stepfather to Linda's son, Jamie Cromley, and he considered him as his own and loved him dearly, along with his wife Michelle, and grandchildren Alexandria and Jamie Jr. Jim was the first of 8 children and the only boy. Imagine how that shaped him. He was born to George (deceased) and Rita (nee Bramlage, recently deceased) Koller on his mother's 21st birthday. What a gift! Seven girls followed over the next 15 years; Patricia Barboni (Frank), Karen Kempf (deceased, Chuck), Debra Buschmann (Mark), Donna Quigley (Tim), Dolores Kingston (John), Bernadette Koller, Rita Stevens (Neil). Jim was always surrounded by extended family which included many nieces and nephews: Marisa Barboni, Dana Lowery, Brett Kempf, Kristen Philbin, Mark Buschmann Jr, Stefanie Eribal, Jackie Keown, Heather Crosby, Jamie Kocotis, Andrew Keown, Joseph Kingston, Nate Stevens along with their families. His boisterous laughter and formidable presence will be forever missed and fondly remembered. Jimmy, we love you, and you are with us always.

Relatives and friends are invited to greet Jim's family on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 beginning at 10 AM at Koller Funeral Home. A Funeral Service will follow at 12 Noon. Interment is Private.
