James Joseph Devine, of Roxborough, age 71 passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 19th.  Born June 12, 1945 to the late Joseph "Skippy" Devine, and the late Lorraine Devine Garvin. Jim was a proud Vietnam War Veteran and served as a paratrooper in the U. S. Army's Airborne Division. He was awarded various service medals and two bronze stars. He was proud of his service and loved his country. He then went on to work for the Budd Company in manufacturing from which he retired. Jim was very active in various AA programs for the last 31 years - helping hundreds of people with their sobriety. He was tough but loving, and opened his home willingly to anyone struggling for help. He had a quick wit and an irreverent sense of humor, and got his point across like no other. "Pappy" was loved beyond measure and will be remembered forever. He is survived by his loving sisters, Kathy Zappasodi (Dave) Janet Jiulianti (Vince) and the late Michele Cannon (John). Also lovingly survived by all his brothers and sisters in his AA families.  Relatives and friends invited to his viewing on Thursday, June 23, 2016 from 8:30-10:30 A.M. at KOLLER FUNERAL HOME, 6835 Ridge Ave, Phila, PA 19128. Funeral Mass 11:00 AM at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 819 Cathedral Rd, Phila, PA 19128.  Interment will be on Monday, June 27, 2016, 10:30 A.M. at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA  18940.  Share condolences at www.kollerfuneralhome.com.
